About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

flight to kathmandu from japan

my total layover time in china from the scheduled arrival at beijing capital international airport to scheduled departure from chengdu shuangliu international airport is 18hrs and 5min..in this case do i still need a transit visa?

No, you don't. Your itinerary is definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit. Print out your flight tickets and have them with you. You will declare at check-in in Japan that you will fly to Kathmandu via China using 24 hour visa free transit. Also, you will repeat the same thing upon your arrival in Beijing where you will also apply for a temporary entry permit at 24 hour visa free transit counter because you will continue your journey on a domestic flight.
