No, unfortunately, this is not allowed. The reason is simple. You cannot be eligible for 144 hours visa free transit if you arrive to one Chinese destination from another Chinese destination. To be allowed for something like this, you would need a visa. Anyway, you have an option.

You have to fly from Sanya to Hong Kong and then take a direct flight from Hong Kong to Guangzhou. Exactly like this, you will have perfectly eligible itinerary:

Hong Kong - Guangzhou - London

Please, keep in mind that you really have to fly from Hong Kong to Guangzhou to be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit and your flight from Guangzhou to London has to be without any additional stop of any kind within mainland China or Hong Kong!

You will just print out your flights tickets and have the printouts with you. Also, you will declare in Hong Kong that you will travel to London via Guangzhou using 144 hour visa free transit. After a short inspection of your tickets, you will be allowed to board the plane. Upon arrival in Guangzhou, you will just approach 144 hour visa free counter where you will fill out the blue form and hand the printouts, your filled out form and the passport to the Chinese authorities that will briefly check the facts. After a short time, you will get a sticker in your passport for free and be allowed to exit the airport. That's it.
