About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Singapore - Shanghai - UK

Hello, if I am flying to the UK from Singapore and want to go via Shanghai. If I want to use visa free transit period is it possible to go Singapore - Shanghai - UK or do I need to go back to the UK via another east Asian country that isn't China (Singapore - Shanghai - eligible territory - UK)? Many thanks!

It doesn't matter what the countries before and after China are. They only have to be two different countries. (Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan also count).
