About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I need double entry visa or single entry is okay?

I am a Philippine passport holder and I will travel to shanghai next year march. My ticket is cebu-shanghai-cebu. I would like to have a side trip in Taiwan so my itinerary would be cebu-shanghai-taiwan-shanghai-cebu. I have to go back to shanghai since I bought round trip ticket to shanghai from my country.

Question: Does my single entry visa okay if my second return to china is just for transit for my return flight to Philippines? Or do I need to apply for Double entry chinese visa?

Please advise.

You are perfectly fine with a single (one) entry visa. As far as I have understood, you will stay in China for a longer time only during your first arrival. On this arrival, you will use your single entry visa.

At the moment of your exit from mainland China to Taiwan, your visa will expire. Anyway, you will declare at check-in in Taiwan, that you will travel to Cebu via Shanghai using 24 hour visa free transit. You will have the printouts of your flight tickets and they will be shortly inspected by Taiwanese authorities. If your layover in Shanghai is less than 24 hours, you will be eligible for 24 hour visa free transit in Shanghai and you don't need any kind of visa for your transit.
