About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Taipei - Beijing - Taipei

Hello, I'm a belgian passeport holder but I'm currently on a semester abroad in Taiwan.
Do I need a visa if I want to visit a friend in Beijing and then go back in Taiwan?
Thanks in advance.
Solene.

In the case of your itinerary, the answer is yes. As you can see, your itinerary is just a round trip flight. To be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit you will need to add a third country or eligible territory. For example:

Taipei - South Korea - Beijing - Taipei
