VOA- invitation letter required?

If entering Shenzhen and getting a VOA, is an invitation letter required from a Shenzhen company for a UK passport holder?

In most cases, the invitation letter is not needed. For many tourists to Shenzhen, they cannot provide this letter but can still get the VOA.
