About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

London to Shanghai - cruise to Japan - return to Shanghai for my flight back to London.

Hi, I have arranged a cruise to Japan for seven nights meeting the cruise ship at Shanghai, I will be flying from Heathrow and having a two night stopover in Shanghai before the cruise departs, on return to Shanghai I will also have a one night stopover in Shanghai before returning to Heathrow.
Will I be able to use the free Transit Visas for both entry/exits in Shanghai ?
Thank you.

Yes, you will be able to use 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai twice, but before that just check your itineraries to see if they fulfill the following conditions:

- Your flight from London to Shanghai should not have any additional landing within mainland China and in Japan
- Your cruise is not allowed to have its first port of call, immediately after Shanghai, in mainland China port
- Your cruise is not allowed to have its last port of call, immediately before Shanghai, in mainland China port
- Your flight from Shanghai to London should not have any additional landing within mainland China and in Japan

If the above mentioned conditions are fulfilled, then you are eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai twice. OK, if your transit time during your second stop in Shanghai is less than 24 hours long, then you will be eligible for 24 hour visa free transit scheme. In reality, this does not change anything in your case and in your visa free scheme.
