Transit Visa to Qingdao from Ulaanbaatar

Hello! I am a German national currently residing in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. I will travel from Ulaanbaatar to Beijing by train on 20 October starting at 7am. My final destination in China will be Qingdao where I will stay for a few days. On 26 October at 11pm I have a return ticket for a train from Beijing to Moscow (via Ulaanbaatar). Could you kindly let me know whether I could bord the train on 20 October without obtaining a visa for China beforehand and make use of the 144 hours transit visa arrangement? Is it possible to obtain the 144 hours transit visa at the Mongolian-Chinese border-crossing while being on the train? Thank you!

That is absolutely impossible without a visa. There is no way that 144 hours transit without visa applies.
