About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Short visits to Beijing and Taipei

Arriving to Beijing from Warsaw, Poland, staying in Beijing for two nights, continuing to Taipei with separate ticket (already purchased, with Hong Kong Airlines).
Four days later returning back from Taipei to Beijing, staying in Beijing for one night, and continuing to Warsaw the next day.
Do I qualify for the 72 hours visa free transit in both directions?

Thank you for your considerate answer.
Two related questions appear at this stage:
1. Whether Hong Kong is considered third country/region? If not, I will have to cancel the Hong Kong Airlines flight (stopover in Hong Kong) and get new, direct flight to Taipei (probably Hainan Airlines).
2. Whether the new Beijing Daxing Airport (PKX) is added to the list of eligible airports for this policy, and whether changing airports in Beijing is allowed? Traveling from Warsaw to Beijing with Polish airline LOT I will obviously arrive at Daxing Airport, while the most (if not all) flights from Beijing to Taipei depart from Beijing Capital Airport (PEK).
Thanks, Zoran

Dear ZUPAN,
It does not happen very often these days to find somebody you never met, answering your private questions with such a diligence and passion. Thank you for that, please let me know if there is an option to recognize your effort?
As for the name issue, so many crazy things happen around the globe today, with ours being one of the craziest. However, the agreement our government reached is mandatory for public institutions only, while I am not representing any public office in any respect.
My best regards, Zoran.

Zoran, it appears that your itinerary qualifies for 144 and 24 hours visa free transit, but your information is incomplete because Hong Kong Airlines does not fly directly from Beijing to Taipei.

Could you please, provide some more detailed information to allow us to offer you a correct and reliable information.

1. Hong Kong is definitely considered as a third country for visa free transit purposes. In other words, you can use it without any doubt. So, you real itinerary will be:

Warsaw - Beijing - Hong Kong - Taipei

This is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing and you and you really don't have to change your tickets. These that you already have are just fine.

2. Beijing Daxing airport is also eligible for a visa free transit scheme, so you can use it without any hesitation. Also, you are allowed to arrive to one and depart from another Beijing airport. This is perfectly allowed, in the same way as it is in Shanghai.

Zoran, now I can conclude that your first stop in Beijing will be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit and your second stop will be eligible for 24 or 144 hour visa free transit depending on your transit time spent in Beijing, starting from your scheduled arrival from Taipei, until your scheduled departure from Beijing. If that time is less than 24 hours, you will be covered by 24 hour visa free transit and if your transit will be just one minute longer than 24 hours, than 144 hour visa free transit will be applied in your case. In any case, you are eligible :)

By the way, I may be biased, but as you have written Macedonia, so I will never recognize new, so called official name fro your country that I even don't want to write it down!
