About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Are flights to and from the same country eligible?

I'm planning on flying from London to Chengdu and then back to London – does that qualify? So countries A and C would be the same.

Of course not. This is not a transit at all. You are advised to rearrange your flights to look like:

London - Chengdu - Paris

Of course, the above mentioned flights have to be nonstop and this itinerary is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Chengdu.
