About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Netherlands - Shanghai 48 hours - moscow transfer - netherlands

I will travel next week to shanghai but i don't have enough time to get the visa. Since i only have to go for 48 hours i assume i will be eligible for the transit visa. Only one problem> i am flying back to amsterdam via Moscow with Aeroflot but can't show the seat reservation for that flight since you can not check in until 24 hours before take off. Also Russia is a Visa country as well and i don't have a visa for Russia because i will only transfer to a flight back to amsterdam. What should i do? will i be accepted in Shanghai for the transit visa or will i most likely be denied and send back to Amsterdam?

Rick, your itinerary is definitely eligible, of course if those are your only stops. You really do not need a seat reservation because this only means that you are not traveling on standby, but on a confirmed ticket. You should print out your tickets for that reason.

Also, Chinese immigration knows very well that you are allowed to travel visa free transit through Moscow airport and that is the reason why you have to have your all flight tickets printed out and brought to you, ready to be shown to relevant authorities. With those tickets you will prove that you will be in Moscow just for transit purposes.

Don't worry because your itinerary is fine and you will be accepted in Shanghai and enjoy your stay by using 144 hour visa free transit.
