About:Visa on Arrival

HK Airport to Fuyong Port

I will arrive at HK airport in the night, stay in a hotel and would like to use the Ferry to Shenzhen to cross the border on Fuyong Ferry port. Can I apply for the VOA at the Port as a German citizen? How long does it take to get the VOA?

I found a flight from the us to Shanghai to Hong Kong. Is it possible to get a Voa to Shenzhen after I already entered in Shanghai?

Mary, here we have a problem because Fuyong port is connected by ferry to Hong Kong Airport Skypier only as far as Hong Kong is concerned. In other words, if you exit the airport transit area, you will not be able to use a ferry from Hong Kong Airport Skypier again.

My suggestion is that you take a ferry from Hong Kong Macau Ferry terminal in Hong Kong from where you can easily reach Shenzhen Shekou port by ferry (catamaran in reality). There you can obtain a Shenzhen VOA, but you should have in mind the opening hours of visa office. They are: 9:00 - 13:00 & 14:30 - 17:00.

In reality, Fuyong is mostly used by passengers intending to fly to/from Shenzhen airport. Quite the contrary, Shenzhen Shekou port is by far more logical.

By the way, you are allowed to apply for a Shenzhen VOA as a German citizen.
