About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Chengdu 24 hour visa free transit?

Hi Are both these connections valid for the 24 hour visa free transit requirement?

I am a Nigerian passport holder but have been resident in the UK for 8 years.

My first flight is London Heathrow - Beijing - Phuket (Stop over in Beijieng is 22 hours)

My second flight is Bangkok - Chengdu - London (Stop over in Chengdu is 20 hours)

Will both itinaries be eligible for free 24 hour visa temporary permit? I called airline they confirmed I will be eligible for the Beijing connection but need to contact chinese embassy for Chengdu connection?

But embassy never picks up, so please could you help me check these please

Ebube, both of your two itineraries are definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and you don't need any kind of visa. The rules are the same in Beijing and in Chengdu.

To be allowed to exit the airport you will have to apply for a temporary entry permit and to empower your applications you are advised to book your accommodation in advance and to have an accommodation booking confirmation in hard copy. Also, it is necessary to have the printouts of your flights in hard copy too.
