About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Guangdong Province - Extended to 144-hour Visa-free Transit?

I will be visiting a factory in Dongguan for 1 day and another one in Shenzhen for 1 day as well. I am travelling from Denmark. So will I be able to get a visa free (144- or 72-hours) visit if I fly to Shenzhen from Denmark (via Dubai or Moscow as an example) and then I take a boat or train to Hong Kong and fly back from there? Or do I have to fly out of Shenzhen instead to a third country before going back to Denmark?

You can definitely enjoy 144 visa free transit by using a ferry from Shenzhen Shekou port to Hong Kong. Anyway, you should be aware that you have to book a ticket for this ferry through CKS - Chu Kong Passenger Transport website and your ferry journey has to be more than 24 hours distant from your scheduled arrival in Shenzhen for at least one minute.

You will receive an e-confirmation for your ferry journey and you will print out that e-confirmation and have it with you. Also, you when asked, you will just state that you travel to Hong Kong via Guangdong province using 144 hour visa free transit and you will present your e-confirmation at the same time. You will collect your real paper ticket for a ferry at Shenzhen Shekou ferry terminal and proceed with it to Hong Kong. Please, have in mind that you have to travel exactly with that ferry you have bought your ticket for.

One more detail... Please, have in mind that your flight to Shenzhen is not allowed to have any additional landing of any kind within mainland China!
