Hi
I am travelling to Shanghai from London to present at a 1 day conference on the Tuesday. I will arrive on the Sunday and depart on the Wednesday to Tokyo. Can I use the 72 transit visa?

Thank you for the reply!

I assume that visa-free transit does not restrict from attending business meetings?

If Shanghai is your only stop within mainland China, then you are definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai area. 72 hour visa free transit has been replaced in Shanghai by 144 hour visa free transit a couple of years ago.

Also, this is not a visa, but 144 hour visa free transit. There is no visa at all!
