About:China Transit Visa

Type of visa for travelling through China, and then a short stay?

My siblings and I (from US with US passports) will have a layover in China (3 hours) on our way to Bangkok. We will be there for 1 week, and then we will fly back to Beijing where we will stay for a week. What type of Visa should we be getting?

If your stay in Beijing is less than 6 days and you are arriving and departing on international flights then you would not need any visas. The 6-day period starts from the day after arrival (e.g., if you enter on the 4th then you should have a ticket departing on the 10th).
