About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

London - Shenzhen - Vietnam

On November 7, 2019, I will be travelling from London Heathrow to Vientam; I fly from London Heathrow to Shenzhen Boa'an Airport, and catch a connecting flight from Shenzhen to Vietnam. I will NOT be leaving the airport during this 7-hour wait, but I have been a little confused when reading up on this airport. I have a Dutch passport, will I need a Chinese visa or any kind of documentation for this transfer in Shenzhen?

Technically you don't need any visa as long as you stay within the airport's transit zone.

Bear in mind to check that the checked luggage is forwarded to your final destination.

Ashleys, you are definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit in Shenzhen and you really should not worry about the issues mentioned by Mateo because his answers are a bit misleading. In reality you are allowed to exit the transit area if that will be necessary (because of separate tickets) and also it is not required that your luggage is forwarded to the final destination because this is, in case of separate tickets, simply impossible. Again, you are fine and just be relaxed because you don't need any kind of visa.

You will just declare in London at check-in that you will travel to Vietnam using 24 hour visa free transit in Shenzhen. You will immediately present them your flights tickets, in reality printouts of your e-tickets. This is it.
