Dear,

I'm in Shangai with the 144h free transit at the moment. I read something online about going to the police station to register yourself, do I have to do that? I'm leaving on the 2nd of october.

If you are staying in a hotel, they will have completed your police registration automatically. If you are in a private home or airbnb etc, you must go to the local police station with your host to register.
