About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Stop in Guangzhou with Layover in Sanya

Hello,

I will be travelling from Cebu with a 14 hour Layover in Guangzhou with another 1 hr 30 technical stop in Sanya en route to London. I've heard the immigration will be completed on Sanya. Do I need a visa for this if in China less than 24 hours?

Your itinerary is definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and you don't need any kind of visa. In reality, you will cross immigration twice. The first time upon your arrival in Guangzhou where you will also apply for temporary entry permit that will allow you to continue your flight as a domestic passenger and also to exit the airport. Upon your arrival in Sanya, you will clear the immigration and after that you will be a passenger in international travel. One suggestion... Since you will have an overnight in Guangzhou, you are advised to book your accommodation in advance and to have a confirmation for your accommodation booking with you.
