About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Taiwan resident applying for tourist L-visa for china?

Hi I have an urgent question.

So I'm a Danish national living and working in taiwan.

so i booked a round trip Taiwan-Hong Kong (1 hour) - Beijing and back again 3 days later, same route 10-13 oct.

Because if national holiday etc the online group visa application can't be made and there are no Chinese embassies in Taiwan.

For the group visa you need; passport, application form, picture, itiniary and hotel booking. all can be uploaded and your fine.

the personal visa which is double the price requires also resident certificate, work permit in host country, old passport if your passport is after 20180101 (incl) and a document from the embassy describing why this is so....

Is there no easier way, and.... can I do this in the airport or do I need it in advance?

please advice.

In my opinion, your only chance was to obtain a visa during your layover in Hong Kong, but you made it so short. I'm sorry to say, but you will really have to apply through some of great Hong Kong agencies, pay for rush service, but you will also have to rearrange your flights. Hong Kong agencies can issue a visa within two working days, but you are supposed to be there. You still have enough time for that.

Alternatively and that would be my suggestion is to make a "triangle" flight:

Taiwan - Hong Kong - Beijing - Taiwan or in different order and be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing area. That would be probably the best in your case.

Also, you can just slightly change your original itinerary, to look like this:

Taiwan - Hong Kong - Beijing
Beijing - Macau - Hong Kong (by ferry or bus) - Taiwan

As you can see you have some options at your disposal because with your original itinerary, you will not be able to travel.
