I am traveling to India have 20 hours lay over in Shanghai can I go explore?

Can I get the 24 hour transit visa from the airport

Your itinerary is eligible for 24 hour visa free transit. Anyway, to be allowed to exit the airport you will have to apply for a temporary entry permit upon landing in Shanghai that will allow you to exit the airport and to explore the city. You are advised to book your accommodation in advance and to have a confirmation in hard copy. You will enclose this confirmation along with your application and your chances to be granted an entry permit are practically certain.
