Prescription Medication

Hi, I have trawled a lot of sites trying to find out about taking prescription medication into the country - do we have to declare the medication at customs if we have a months supply with us - our visit to China is only 3 days of this trip. Thanks for such a great web site.

No, you don't. There is no such an obligation and you are allowed to take your prescription medication with a relevant document issued by your family physician or similar instance. Nothing more than that. If asked by customs what do you have in your luggage, you will just answer, only the personal items and if asked if you have something to declare, then you will just state that you carry your prescription medication among other personal items. If interested, they will check your medication and your document shortly and after that allow you to enter the country. Don't be afraid of taking your medication to China because literally millions are visiting or transiting through the country taking their medication with them.
