About:Overstaying in China & Penalty

What happen if the person overstayed here in china and her visa is expired ?

If she was arrested today because of overstaying ! what will happen to her in the next day . it would be a less penalty if she surrender her self to the police or it is still same funishment when she is arrested the police un expectedly

The penalty is the same, ie. CNY 500 per day but not beyond CNY 10,000. However, if she surrender herself at the police, she may not be detained.
