About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Baby born in the Philippines. Father is Chinese on a tourist visa.

Does my baby need a passport to go to China? He's 6 mos. old. I wonder if we need to get him a Chinese passport from the embassy or a Philippine passport at the DFA office. We are planning to move to China this year. Am really so confused. I've never been abroad.
As for my visa. They say I need to get a Q1 visa. If I get a visa, how long is it valid for? Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my queries.

You could go to DFA office and ask them if you can put your baby's information on your passport.
Q1 visa will allow you to stay with a minimum of 1 year and a maximum of 5 years. Have you got married and your children got a Birth Certificate? If you want to apply for the Q1 visa for you and the baby, the authenticated Birth Certificate and Marriage Certificate are also needed.
