About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

From Japan to London with a stop in Guangzhou and Sanya (US Passport)

I will be flying from Japan to London with a 14 hour stop in Guangzhou and a 2 hour stop in Sanya. The stop in Guangzhou is a connecting flight (China southern to china southern) and the stop in Sanya is just a stop, I will be leaving on the same aircraft I arrived in. Am I covered by the 24 hour transit visa?

Thanks Kyle!

We found flights that are cheaper and wondering if this would need a visa as well.
The go from Canada to Beijing..and we would stay 2 days there. Then fly to singapore for 12 days. And fly to Shanghai for 4 days. And then back to Canada. Again we have Canadian passports...so would we still need a tourist visa??

Yes, you are definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit in China because your entire transit time is noticeably less than 24 hours. Just bring your flight tickets in hard copy.

MJ, if this is your entire itinerary:

Canada - Beijing - Singapore
Singapore - Shanghai - Canada

And you don't have any additional stops of any kind, especially in mainland China, you will be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing and in Shanghai. In other words, you don't need any kind of visa.
