About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Xiamen

Eligible for 144 hrs Xiamen without visa?

Hello thank you for your advise. I will fly from Bangkok to Xiamen stay 144 hrs
Fly to Hong Kong. Is that acceptable for the 144 hr visa ?

Is there a way to spend two or three days in Shanghai also?

Your itinerary:

Bangkok - Xiamen - Hong Kong

In case that you don't have any additional landings of any kind beside the above mentioned, you are perfectly eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Xiamen.

Anyway, you are not allowed to travel to Shanghai because it is not allowed to travel to two different Chinese transit zones in a row.

To be allowed to visit Shanghai, you can do that, but only after you land in Hong Kong. For example, you can fly or take a conventional (slow) train from Hong Kong to Shanghai, stay there using 144 hour visa free transit and then take a flight to Macau.
