You are definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit during your entire transit in China. In other words, you don't need any kind of visa. You will clear the immigration upon your landing in Guangzhou where you will apply for 24 hour free entry permit because the next segment of your flight. i.e. Guangzhou - Wuhan will be on purely domestic flight. This is not a problem since you have a nice 5 hour long layover.
Upon your landing in Wuhan, you will again clear the immigration because you will arrive from a domestic flight and connect to an international one. In reality, you will be between Guangzhou and Wuhan in reality in China. These two immigration controls could be perceived as a hassle, but in reality, you will cross them easily and they will not present you such a hassle as you imagine them right now.
