About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

two tickets

Hi, I will fly into Shanghái coming from Hong Kong to fly to Madrid 3 days after. This is not one ticket but two separate tickets (HK-SHAN and SHAN-MAD). Is this OK for th 144 hour free transit or must it be one ticket?

Separate tickets are fine.

It is perfectly allowed to have separate tickets. Everything that matter is your citizenship and your itinerary. You are fine in both, so you are definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai area.

You should just take care that your both flights don't have any additional landing within mainland China.
