I am planing to participate in the scientific conference in Beijing, China. I think I have to apply F type VISA for this. But I am confused about the bank statement (and minimum balance in it). For F visa, you need an official invitation letter issued by a relevant unit or individual in China and a personal covering letter or your company's certification letter. The bank statement is not required. If the embassy specially requires for it, your friend could be your sponsor. He should provide his bank statement, his ID card, and write a guarantee letter for you.
