Can I submit my application in person and then have Passport posted back to me?

Travelling via Hong Kong to Xian next February after leaving a cruise ship. When I apply for my visa can I submit my application in person in London and then have the Passport posted back to me, rather than return four days later? I live in Hampshire so it's a long way back to travel to London twice.

You could request to have the passports returned by post by lodging the application at the counter of the China Visa Application Service Center. You also need to provide a prepaid, traceable envelop with asigned receiving address when submitting (extra charge will occur if the visa centre provides you with the envelope).
