About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

how do they consider the transit time?

I will be arriving from ulaan battar to Beiging at 14.00 and i have 5hr layover at beijing toward shanghai. I will be arriving shanghai at 22.00 and board next flight to yangon at 7.05 next day. On my way i will have layover of 3 hrs at Kumming. I will be leaving from Kumming at 14.00 hrs which is 5 min extra but i would have done my immigration way before. Is it covered under 24 hr TWOV or i need visa (Indian national)

The ULN-PEK flight arrives at 1:55 PM, not 2PM like you claimed, so that's 5 minutes over 24 hours. The 24-hour period is calculated from scheduled arrival time to scheduled departure time. To conclude you need a G visa or different flights, or will not be allowed to travel.

Rahul, this rule is easy to understand. Everything that matters is your first SCHEDULED arrival time and your last SCHEDULED departure time. So, if the time between your first scheduled arrival time, in your case in Beijing, until your last scheduled departure time, in your case from Kunming is 24 hours and not a single minute over it, you are eligible for 24 hour visa free transit, but if your scheduled time, regardless of time when will you accomplish your immigration checks, is just one minute over 24 hours, you will need a transit (G) visa obtained in advance.
