About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

How is the arrival time and departure time calculate?

I have a flight from Denpasar to Guangzhou landing at Sunday Sept 7 at 13:45 and leaving from Guangzhou to Toronto Sat Sept 14 at 15:30, will I be eligible for the 144 h visa , since the time written on the ticket is literally, 144 h + 1h45 min? I wonder if the 0:00 midnight after your arrival, starts counting after you get the visa, or is it the landing time on your ticket that counts, at the time of applying for the visa?

Thank you.

Yawen, you will have to apply for a Chinese tourist (L) visa because you have one day more than it is allowed. You are right that the time of 144 entry permit starts on the next day of your arrival, at midnight. In other words, you are arriving on September 7 and the time you are allowed to stay starts on September 8 at 00:00. If you count 144 hours or 6 days, it means that the very last minute you have to depart from Guangzhou expires at 23:59 on September 13. Everything after that is an overstay and you will not be allowed to board the plane in Denpasar if you declare that you plan to travel on 144 hour visa free transit. Sorry.

Of course, this will work. With this correction, your stay becomes perfectly eligible for 144 hour visa free transit. Please, just use correct terminology. This is 144 hour visa free transit and not a visa. There is no visa at all.
