Can I book London Chengdu London?

Can I come to visit Chengdu for 6 days as a city break holiday and fly back within the 144h limit?

Thank you.

No, you cannot do that because that would not be a transit, but a visit to China. Simply speaking, there is no third country. If you intend to be a bit creative you can use an itinerary that is eligible, for example:

London - Paris - Chengdu - London
London - Amsterdam - Chengdu - London

Or similar... In the case of the presented itineraries, you would be definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Chengdu.
