About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Two stops from Seoul to Kathmandu via Chagnsha- Kunming

Hello everyone,

I am travelling from Seoul to Kathmandu with two stops - in Changsha (9 hrs layover) and in Kunming (4 hours layover).

My total travel time is 21 hours. As far as I read here, there should be no issue to get 24-hour visa-free transit. Can anyone suggest me the process about it? And there will be no issues?

Thank you.

Ah, thank you so much! Very detailed and clear! Many thanks! One more thing:

Earlier I had thought that I have to check-out using 24-hour visa-free transit to pick my luggage in Changsha. Then, I while check-in, where I don't have to think about my luggages, as they will be transffered automatically in Kunming to the flight for Kathmandu (4 hrs layover). It seems that I need to check-out in Kunming, and check-in again right?

Forest, you are definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit.

You should print out your e-tickets and have them in hard copy.

You will declare at your check-in in Seoul that you will fly to Kathmandu via two Chinese airports using 24 hour visa free transit. You will present your tickets and after that will be allowed to board the plane.

Upon your arrival in Changsha, you will approach 24 hour TWOV counter where you will apply for 24 hour free entry permit to be allowed to collect your luggage and perform new check-in for your flight to Kunming. From now, until your check-in in Kunming, you are in literally in China.

Upon your arrival in Kunming, you will collect your luggage, perform new check-in for your flight to Kathmandu and that's it.

There will be no issues at all. Just be relaxed, enjoy your travel, maybe even a short stroll in Changsha using a maglev train.
