About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Transit without Visa for less than 24 Hour

Hi,
I'm a Philippine passport holder coming from JFK New York, I was booked thru Air China but was informed that the schedule was changed so I now have a 22 hours layover in Beijing. The Airline offered me a hotel outside the airport but didn't discuss the details since they are not aware of the VISA policy. Am I able to get out from PEK with TWOV going to the hotel?

If your onward flight from Beijing goes directly to the third country, you are definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit. To be allowed to exit the airport, you will have to apply for 24 hour free entry permit upon your landing in Beijing. You will also enclose the hotel booking and you should have it in hard copy. Please, have this detail in mind. Since your layover is very long, it is during the whole night and the hotel is sponsored by Air China, your chances to be granted an entry permit are almost certain. Just be relaxed and don't forget to print out a hotel voucher, but in the way that it is clearly visible that this voucher is sent to you by Air China.
