Indian citizen with H1-B Visa, staying in USA, 14 hours layover in Beijing.

Hi,

Need your expert guidance for my situation. I am travelling from USA to India in December, having 14 hours layover in Beijing. I checked the 72/144 hours Visa free transit policies and it mentions USA as one of the country allowed to take advantage of the visa free transit policy, but not India. My questions are, is this policy based on nationality (passport) or where the person is coming from (in my case USA) ? Also, would I need to apply for transit visa?

The 144 and 72-hour visa-free policy are based on the nationality (passport). You needn't apply for a transit visa, for your layover in Beijing are egible for the 24-hour visa free transit.
