About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

cruise ends in Shanghai fly singapore then home to UK

Our cruise starts 12/10/19 Japan Korea & ends in Shanghai, ship docks at 06.00am, then we are transferred by coach to Shanghai (Baoshan) airport for our flight (SQ831) to Singapore & then home to UK flight number SQ322. Do we need a 24-hour Visa-Free Transit, and if so where do we get them from. We are both British citizen and hold 10 year passports. Many Thanks.

Caroline, you are definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit in Shanghai. You will apply for 24 hour free entry permit upon your docking in Shanghai, in the terminal building. Also, it is possible that you will receive the forms already on the ship. Never mind, this detail is not important. So, you will present your onward flight ticket and you should have it in hard copy. You will just print out your e-tickets that you have received on your email from Singapore Airlines. After that, you will be allowed to exit the terminal building and to make a transfer to the airport. In the case that you have some spare time, you can use it to make a short stroll in the city.
