About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Chengdu

Hello - I am travelling London - Bangkok - Chengdu - Bangkok - London. Does this require a visa?

Unfortunately, yes. As you can see, this portion of your itinerary:

Bangkok - Chengdu - Bangkok

Made you ineligible for any kind of visa free transit scheme because this is not treated as a transit because there is no third country. In other words, the immediate points before and after your Chinese destinations are in the same country and that is not allowed.
