About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Arrival to Shanghai on cruise - transit to the airport

Hello, we are UK and Polish passport holders. We will arrive on cruise ship to Shanghai (Baoshan) from South Korea (Seoul) on the 26th of October at 7am. Shanghai is our last port of call. Directly from the port we will be transferred by bus to the airport (Pudong). We have our flight to Singapore at the same day 26th of October at 3.30 pm. We will be landing in Singapore around 8pm. Then we have another flight from Singapore to London (26th of October at 11.45 pm) Do we qualify for 144 hours visa free transit? If yes, should we apply online or it is possible to get it in the Baoshan port??

You are both qualified for 24 hour visa free transit and you don't need any kind of visa. The reason why you will be covered by 24 and not by 144 hour TWOV is in the fact that your transit time in Shanghai will be less than 24 hours. In reality, this detail doesn't change anything.

You don't need to apply for this visa free transit online because you will be perfectly allowed to do that upon your arrival at cruise terminal in Shanghai. You are supposed to have your cruise and especially flight ticket (Shanghai to Singapore) in hard copy.
