Flying to Sanya from Singapore, transit in Guangzhou

My husband and I both hold Malaysian passports and we plan to travel to Sanya for a week's holidays. We will be travelling from Singapore and transiting in Guangzhou for 2-3 hours. Would we need to apply for a visa? Or are we eligible for Hainan's Visa-free entry policy? Or would we need to apply for a transit visa? Appreciate your help!

You stay in Guangzhou is not a transit but a visit. you need to apply for a tourist visa in advance. Or you could travel with a Local Travel Agency and directly fly to Sanya, in this way you don't need a visa.
