About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

Work and residence permit

Hello,
I'm currently in China on a Z-type visa and have just been granted the work permit. I should apply for residence permit now but I don't have enough time before the 30 days expire and in fact I would need to travel to Europe next week. As the Z-type visa is for one entry, can I return with a normal 2-entry business visa and apply for residence or will the residence permit application process be jeopardized if I leave now? I'm not sure if I need to stay on a Z-type visa when I apply for residence or that's only for the work permit.

You have to apply for the residence permit first and wait unitll you get it. if you leave China during the period and apply for a new business visa when return, your Z visa and the residence permit will be cancelled.
