I booked a round trip withing a round trip. Would I qualify?
I have a round trip ticket from the US to Beijing. My dates are 9/6/19 - 9/16/19. However, I purchased a round trip within that trip from Beijing to Bangkok 9/11/19 - 9/16/19. So my itinerary is as follows:
US to Beijing - 9/6 (landing 9/7)
Beijing to Bangkok - 9/11
This should qualify for the 144hr visa free transit correct?
Then on the way back:
Bangkok to Beijing - 9/16 in the morning
Beijing to US - 9/16 in the afternoon
My return from Bangkok to the US should just qualify for a 24hr transit right? I won't be leaving the airport on the way back through Beijing but I am on 2 different airlines. My booking from 9/6 - 9/16 is on United. My booking from 9/11 - 9/16 is on Air China. The fact that it's a round trip within a round trip shouldn't matter right. It's still starting in one country, only passing through Beijing, and on to a third country. Then the same on the way back but only for 6 hours between flights.
