About:Visa on Arrival

How long can I stay with VAO in Shenzhen

I am a German Passport holder traveling on a nonstop flight from Manila to Shenzhen. I arrive at 4:00AM on Monday.
With a 5 day VAO, when do I have to Fly out or depart from Shenzhen the latest??
Because I read the VAO starts only at 23:00 after arriving in Shenzhen.

VOA starts at 00:00 of the next day. In other words, if you arrive on Monday at 04:00, VOA begins to count down on Tuesday at 00:00, so you are allowed to stay until Saturday at 23:59.

By the way, I suggest you, especially if you plan to travel to Hong Kong & Macau or some other country, but not the Philippines, to apply for 144 hour visa free transit. With this scheme, that is absolutely free you would get an additional day in the area and you would not be limited to Shenzhen area only because 144 hour visa free transit allows you to travel throughout Guangdong province.
