About:China Student Visa

Exchange student in Hong Kong but need to do fieldwork in Mainland

Hello, I will be an exchange student in a Hong Kong university, but my research will take place both in Hong Kong and in nearby Mainland cities like Zhuhai. Can I apply for the X2 visa with a Hong Kong university as my host?

you could ask the Hong Kong university if they can provide the proof that you need to go to Mainland China for doing reseraches. if they can, then you could try to apply for the X2 visa.
