About:Chinese Consulate in Toronto

Cost of Visa for China

My family plan a trip to China for March 12-21, 2020 (10 days). We are using a Travel tour company that wants to charge $185 per person to organize paper work for Visa. There is 6 of us going (4 adults, 2 children). How much would it cost if we apply for the Visa ourselves...is the process difficult/requires several visits to visa centre? I work down the street on Universiy avenue and can drop forms off easily.
Thanks,
Sharon

Sharon, if you apply for it yourself, each of you need to pay 162.15 dollars. The process is easy and you need to visit the center twice, one for submiting application, one for collecting passport.

You have to complete the application online, get electronic and paper photos. The application form is about 10 pages and its tedious, not quite clear, sometimes so it can be a bit tricky to fill out but once you're done you print it. Then go to the website and get an appointment time to submit the application. Even though you have a time there are lots of people for the same time. You line up to get a number at the centre, then wait for it to call. The application officer will check your documents, if okay, take your photo again, and fingerprints both your hands, they will accept, it not then you have to redo, after which you pay and it take 3-5 days to get the visa. multiple 5-10 yrs cost 162.15
