Visiting dutch boyfriend

I am here working already and my boyfriend wishes to join for work eventually but regardless plans to visit in October. What advice do you have for a visa ? How long is he entitled to stay on a tourist visa? Should he say he is visiting me or just tourism? Can he extend ? How many times can he apply within a year ? Many thanks in advance

He should apply for a tourist type, which allows him to stay for one to three months. He can say he is visiting you in order to get longer stay duration. While in China, he can extend the stay duration at local exit and entry administration. The extension can done twice at most.
