About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Liberian National With US permanent Residency

I am Liberian and will be flying from the US to Thailand via Hong Kong with a 3 hour layover. I'm getting mixed information regarding the 24 hour visa as I am Liberian. Will I need to get a visa while in the US or will I qualify for the 24-hour VISA?

Zook, unfortunately, 24 hour visa free transit is valid only for transits through the airports within mainland China, but this option is definitely inexistent in Chinese autonomous territories of Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau. If you were only flying via some mainland Chinese airport you would have been eligible for this visa free transit option. Since you are flying through Hong Kong, you will have to obtain Hong Kong transit visa.
