About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu

Dubai to Shanghai with change of planes in HKG with ultimate destination Hong Kong

I am travelling from Dubai to SH with Cathay. This involves a change of flights in Hong Kong with 2 hour wait t airport as Cathay has no direct flights. Can I have 144 hour transit free visa in SH if my ultimate destination is Hong Kong.

If you fly Hong Kong > Shanghai > Hong Kong then you need a visa as the entry through and exit through country are the same.
