I have an official Indian passport and Chinese visa. I'm required to take one day halt at Hong Kong on my way back. It's night 10pm to next day 5 pm. Do I need to apply for a separate visa if I'm going to stay in a hotel or visit the market.

Official Indian passport holders do not need visas for visits less than 14 days. The pre-approval registration requirement also does not apply to them.
