VOA Shenzhen onto Foshan City

Hi Zupan

Thanks for all the info here - really great stuff. I’m flying into HK and looking to then take a bus to Luohu to then apply for a VOA. I would then go to Shenzhen from there - my main question is: would I be able to then continue onto Foshan City? This is where a factory I’m visiting is located. Is it absolutely not permissible to leave Shenzhen on a VOA or is there leniency when it comes to cities like Foshan that are within 2 hours of Shenzhen? Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Will, in reality, nobody will check you in the street and it's true that it would be very easy to reach Foshan and stay there using Shenzhen VOA, but in theory. Main problem here is logistics. You will have to travel somehow from Shenzhen to Foshan and in the moment of your ticket booking, you will be required to present your passport, even for intercity bus tickets. At that very moment the person at the counter will realize that you have Shenzhen VOA and consequently will deny you a ticket sale. Also, it would be very inconvenient to arrive in some accommodation in Foshan because even there they will demand you to present your passport and again, here is the problem because of your Shenzhen VOA. These logistical details are those who make your trip to Foshan with Shenzhen visa, practically impossible.
